For their January/February 2016 issue, Men’s Fitness featured Selfie On A Stick’s favorite NYC trainer Coss Marte and his fitness program, ConBody. Coss personally oversaw a multi-million dollar cocaine and marijuana empire in New York’s Lower East Side before getting busted and being sent to jail in 2009. Once he was locked up, however, he not only rethought his life-he conceived an entirely new and original way for getting fit. Since his release Coss has been incredibly focused on making his fitness dreams a reality by starting ConBody, a prison style boot camp that utilizes exercises that Coss performed in his cell to lose over 70lbs.
ConBody completed a successful KickStarter campaign in October 2015 which enabled Coss to move the ConBody studio from a sub-leased space to its new, permanent home at 294 Broome Street in the Lower East Side of New York City.
SelfieOnAStick.com co-founder Dominic Suszanski has been working out with ConBody since the summer of 2015 after he and business partner Jacqueline Verdier met Coss at the Wired Business Conference. Coss presented on behalf of Defy Ventures, a non-profit whose primary mission is teaching ex-cons the skills needed to run a business and assist them in securing investors. Marte credits Defy Ventures and it's founder Catherine Hoke with his stunning reversal of fortune. "What she is doing, nobody else is doing and I believe she is a blessing to all of us coming home from prison and wanting to start up our own businesses."
Dominic was more than happy to speak with Men’s Fitness about the ConBody workouts and even joined the class that was being shot for the issue. Suszanski says “…I like that the workouts are all your own body weight…it’s a great workout, and my core is much stronger than it has ever been.”
